This guide separates descriptive comparisons of recorded draws from theoretical probability and random selection. Each answers a different question, and none should be read as a forecast of future winning numbers.
Historical Simulator
The Historical Simulator accepts 1–20 tickets. Each ticket contains five distinct main numbers from 1–35 and may include an optional Powerball from 1–10. Available windows are Last 50, Last 100, Last 500 and All history.
It reports the 0/5 through 5/5 main-match distribution, Powerball matches, combined main-plus-Powerball results, per-ticket best matches, 3+ matches, 4+ matches, exact-five matches and historical comparison rows.
It does not calculate winnings, ROI, expected return or predictive validity. It shows how entered tickets matched the selected past records.
Draw Similarity Finder
The Draw Similarity Finder compares one selected five-number main line with valid historical draws and reports overlap from 0/5 through 5/5, including the most similar recorded draws.
Powerball is excluded. Similarity is historical overlap, not future probability.
Exact one-line main probability
For the current five-from-35 main-number model, the probability of exactly k main matches for one line is:
The first term counts which of the five selected main numbers match. The second counts the required non-matching values from the other 30 current main numbers. The denominator counts all possible five-number main outcomes from 35 values.
Powerball probability
For one line, the probability of matching the separate Powerball is:
This is calculated separately from the main-number result. A combined event must state what it means—for example, matching a specified number of main numbers and the Powerball on the same line.
Multiple-line limitation
For multiple lines, the current calculator uses 1 − (1 − p)n for an “at least one” estimate. This treats line outcomes as independent.
That is not a complete exact joint-probability model for arbitrary overlapping Lotto Plus lines. The result should therefore be understood as the calculator’s independence-based estimate, including when combined main-number/Powerball events are selected. The calculator itself was not changed as part of this guide.
Random Number Picker
The Random Number Picker creates five unique main numbers from 1–35 and can add an optional Powerball from 1–10. It does not use historical results, hot/cold labels or ranking weights.
The current source uses browser cryptographic random values with rejection sampling so that the generated ranges are unbiased by the integer conversion step. This describes how the lines are generated; it does not give them a historical advantage.
What historical analysis can show
Historical tools can describe past matches, main-number overlap, recorded frequencies, gaps, repeats, Powerball transitions, associations and selected mathematical scores.
Those measurements do not by themselves establish changed future probability, a profitable strategy, expected return or predictive validity. They describe the records and the selected calculation.
