This guide explains the Pick 2 measurements that compare adjacent records or describe the structure of one ordered result. They summarize recorded relationships while preserving FIRST/SECOND identity.
Transition Explorer
The Transition Explorer measures same-position adjacent-record relationships. It can count a selected FIRST value followed by an adjacent FIRST value, or a selected SECOND value followed by an adjacent SECOND value.
The output reports the selected FROM value, TO value, matching count and historical rows.
Transition direction limitation
The current result is therefore safest to describe as an adjacent-record transition count. The labels should not automatically be read as a clean chronological FROM → NEXT relationship unless the implementation’s ordering is accounted for.
This guide records the limitation. The Transition Explorer calculation is not changed here.
What Transition Explorer does not calculate
The current tool does not model exact pair → next exact pair transitions, cross-position transitions or same-draw causal relationships.
Repeat and carryover
The Repeat & Carryover Explorer separately reverses the loaded records into chronological order before comparison. It measures FIRST repeats, SECOND repeats, exact ordered-pair repeats, one-or-both carryover and consecutive repeat streaks.
This lets the tool describe whether a value or exact pair was retained from one chronological draw to the next. It remains a historical comparison, not a forecast.
Sum
Sum is calculated as FIRST + SECOND. Under the current 1–36 model, the possible sum range is 2–72.
A sum describes the structure of a recorded ordered result. It does not make one result more likely in a future draw.
Odd and even
FIRST and SECOND are classified independently. The four structures are:
- OO: FIRST odd, SECOND odd
- OE: FIRST odd, SECOND even
- EO: FIRST even, SECOND odd
- EE: FIRST even, SECOND even
The first letter always refers to FIRST and the second letter to SECOND.
Low and high
The current implementation defines Low as 1–18 and High as 19–36. The resulting ordered structures are LL, LH, HL and HH, with the first letter referring to FIRST.
Doubles and reversals as structure
Doubles and reversals are also structural descriptions used by the Draw Structure Finder. For their full exact-pair treatment, see the guide on Exact Pairs, Reversals and Doubles.
How to interpret these measurements
Adjacent-record counts, repeats, sums and structural categories describe the recorded dataset and the selected calculation. They do not establish future probabilities or causal relationships.
