Pick 4 Research Guide

Pick 4 Positional Frequency, Gaps and Statistical Views

How the Analyzer separates positions and describes recorded history

Pick 4 statistics are position-aware. This guide explains how the Analyzer counts digits in each position, measures current gaps and presents exact-result and positional views.

Four separate positions

The implementation maintains separate counts for Position 1, Position 2, Position 3 and Position 4. A digit appearing in Position 1 is not pooled with that digit appearing in another position. This preserves the structure of the ordered result.

Analyzer history scope

The current Analyzer uses all loaded valid history. It does not provide selectable Last 20, Last 50 or other historical windows. Every frequency and gap shown by the current Analyzer should therefore be read as a summary of the complete loaded dataset.

Positional frequency

For each position, the Analyzer counts how often each digit from 0 through 9 appears. It identifies the most frequent digit, least frequent digit and their appearance counts within that position.

These are counts of recorded observations. A higher or lower historical count does not alter the theoretical probability of a future exact result.

Current positional gaps

A current gap is the number of newer records since a digit most recently appeared in a selected position. A digit in the newest available record has gap 0. A digit not found in the loaded history has a current gap equal to the number of loaded records.

The Analyzer’s “Longest current gap” is the largest current gap among the digits in that position. It is not the largest historical interval ever observed between appearances.

Most recently seen

The Analyzer also shows the digit observed most recently in each position. This is a description of the newest loaded record, not a recommendation about the next result.

Position Digit Explorer

Position Digit Explorer lets a reader choose one position and one digit. It reports appearances, historical rate, most recent date, most recent draw and matching historical rows for that position-specific value.

Exact-result frequency

The Analyzer separately counts complete four-character results and displays the 12 most frequent exact outcomes. These counts preserve leading zeroes and order. A result and one of its permutations are not combined.

Positional grids

The Analyzer presents four separate ten-digit positional grids. Each grid shows the digit, its appearance count and its current gap for that position.

Internal pair calculations

The shared statistics code calculates maps for six positional pairs internally, but no current public interface presents those maps. They are not part of the current public Pick 4 research display.

How to interpret these views

Frequency, gaps and exact-result counts describe what appears in the recorded dataset. They do not make a digit “due,” change the 10,000-outcome model or establish predictive value.
