Pick 4 Research Guide

Pick 4 Transitions, Carryover and Draw Structure

How adjacent records and four-digit structures are summarized

This guide explains the Pick 4 tools that compare adjacent records or summarize the internal structure of a four-digit result. These are descriptions of recorded data, not forecasts.

Transition Explorer

Transition Explorer measures one selected position at a time. For example, it can count an older Position 1 digit followed by the next newer Position 1 digit, or perform the same calculation for Positions 2, 3 or 4.

It reports the selected position, From digit, To digit, matching count, transition rate and matching historical rows. The denominator is the number of valid records minus one.

Chronology

The active Pick 4 calculation compares older adjacent records with the next newer record. This preserves the intended chronological direction for the displayed transition count.

Transition limits

Transition Explorer does not measure exact result to next exact result, cross-position transitions or same-draw causal relationships. A historical transition frequency is not a forecast of what will happen next.

Repeat and carryover

Repeat & Carryover Explorer supports exact complete-result repeats and same-value repeats within one selected position. It reports the consecutive repeat count, repeat rate and matching adjacent rows.

It does not measure a value repeating anywhere across different positions, partial exact-result overlap, the number of repeated positions, broader carryover categories or repeat streak lengths.

Digit sum

The digit sum is the total of the four digits. Its possible range is 0–36. The Digit Sum Explorer finds recorded results with a selected sum and reports their count, historical rate and recent matching records.

Odd/even structure

Each position is independently classified as odd or even. Examples include OOOO, OOEE, EOEO and EEEE. The first letter describes Position 1, the second Position 2, and so on.

Repeated-digit structure

Draw Structure Finder can filter by the five repeated-digit families described in the exact-results guide: four distinct, one pair, two pairs, triple and four identical.

Draw Structure Finder

The active filters are digit sum, odd/even pattern and repetition structure. Pick 4 does not currently implement high/low, consecutive-digit, spread, first/last relationship or digit-difference filters.

How to interpret structure

Transitions, repeats, sums, parity and repeated-digit families describe recorded relationships and classifications. They do not change theoretical future probability or establish a causal relationship between draws.
