Looking Back at 2025: Two Marks Tied at the Top
The Play Whe results for 2025 had a tie at the top and a quiet slide at the bottom. Corbeau and Jamette led with 50 appearances each; Spider finished last with 23.

Corbeau and Jamette Lead the Way
Corbeau (11) and Jamette (16) were the most frequently drawn marks of 2025, with 50 appearances each. Parson Wife (31) came next with 45, then Cattle (9) with 43 and Shrimp (32) with 42. Across 1,228 draws the average is about 34 per mark, so the two leaders finished roughly 16 above it.
The jump is what stands out. Corbeau had 31 appearances in 2024 and 50 in 2025. Jamette went from 39 to 50.
Spider Kept Slipping
Spider (33) was the least-drawn mark of the year with only 23 appearances. Old Lady (2) followed with 25, then Carriage (3) and Monkey (10) with 26 each, and Belly (6) with 27.
Spider’s totals over the last three years read 41 in 2023, 31 in 2024 and 23 in 2025. It also ended 2025 with a gap of 100 draws, the second-longest on the record.
The Longest Wait
The longest gap at the end of the year belonged to Dead Man (4), which had gone 136 draws without appearing. Pigeon (17) was at 75, Donkey (36) at 65 and King (12) at 63.
Dead Man was one of the joint leaders in 2024 with 43 appearances. In 2025 it appeared 35 times and finished with the longest closing gap. That contrast is interesting, but it is still a description of two years of results—not evidence that the mark is becoming more or less likely.
Repeats and Draw Periods
We recorded 35 consecutive repeat pairs in 2025, one more than the 34 of 2024. Red Fish (28) and Shrimp (32) each accounted for four, and Corbeau (11) for three. The four daily periods were again evenly represented, with 307 draws each in Morning, Midday, Afternoon and Evening.
My Takeaway from 2025
Two marks tied at 50, one mark slid down to 23, and the longest absence went to a mark that had topped the table the year before. None of it changes the odds of any single draw, which stay the same for every mark every time.
That’s what I like about keeping the full record. It lets us see what really happened, and keeps us honest about what it can and can’t tell us.
Year after year the table reshuffles. The chance on the next draw stays exactly where it was.
